Electromagnet Design Guide

Time:2021-08-29Hits:108

After the electromagnet design is confirmed, the steps are as follows:

1.    The structural type of the electromagnet is selected according to the load reaction force characteristics. There are many structural types of electromagnets, such as snap type, direct acting type and solenoid type. They are divided into DC electromagnets and AC electromagnets.

2.    Make sure the data of Electromagnet you need. To design an electromagnet, you must first choose a reasonable structural type. This is an important step to ensure the quality     of electromagnet design. Under normal circumstances, in addition to selecting the structural type of the electromagnet through     the electromagnet attraction, reaction force characteristics, and structural data, the specific selection of electromagnet related components is often determined by the designer's practical experience.

3  Preliminary design to determine the structural parameters of the electromagnet

4  After the structural type of the electromagnet is selected, the preliminary design of the electromagnet can be carried out and its relevant structural parameters can be determined. The so-called structural parameters refer to the ratio parameters of some geometric dimensions such as the working air gap magnetic flux density of the electromagnet, the coil and the iron core. Once these parameters are determined, the geometric dimensions of the electromagnet and the coil parameters will also be determined. Therefore, this is an important step in the traditional design method of electromagnets. The main content is to deduce the relationship between suction and core radius based on the matching requirements of suction and reaction force characteristics (where suction is the suction at the design point), from which the core radius can be determined. The magnetic potential balance equation is then used to derive the excitation magnetic potential, and then the coil parameters are determined by the coil heating equation. Finally, by selecting certain ratio parameters, the structural parameters of the electromagnet are initially determined.

It can be seen from this that the traditional design method of electromagnets is based on certain technical conditions (such as the coordination of attraction and reaction force characteristics and the allowable heating temperature rise of the coil, etc.) and by idealizing the complex physical model of the actual electromagnet, deducing Some approximate calculation formulas are used to obtain the structural parameters of the electromagnet. It is precisely because of these simplifications that the design accuracy is low, and verification and correction are generally required. ,

5     Checking the specified technical conditions

In fact, this step of the electromagnet is to calculate the relevant characteristics and parameters of the electromagnet (such as static suction characteristics, steady-state temperature rise of the coil, etc.) when the structural size of the electromagnet is known, in order to determine whether the design solution meets the technical conditions. requirements. If it is not satisfied, the relevant parameters need to be modified. If it is satisfied, the economic and technical indicators of the electromagnet must be evaluated to arrive at a more satisfactory design solution.
